PowerPoint & Executive Communication Design
Intro
As a Business Analyst supporting IRS IAM, I design PowerPoint decks for very different audiences — from internal team culture-building to recurring leadership status reviews. This page walks through three decks that each solve a different communication problem, using the same underlying design system.
(All samples below use mock data, dummy text, and fictional names to reflect real work while protecting any sensitive information.)
01 — "Graphic Design in the US Government"
For an internal biweekly team meeting, I researched and designed a presentation tracing the history of the Federal Design Program under Nixon — from NASA's 1975 branding manual to the National Park Service's minifolders — to make the case for design excellence inside government constraints. The deck closes with a practical takeaway: how our team can apply those same lessons within IRS branding rules, like restricted color use and Arial-only typography.
02 — "Branch Reporting Template System"
To standardize how branch leads present quarterly performance, I designed a reusable PowerPoint template covering seven recurring slide types — KPI dashboards, org structure, performance-vs-goal scorecards, and onboarding checklists — unified under one icon system and color logic. The goal was to reduce design lift for non-designers on the team while keeping every branch's deck consistent and presentation-ready.
03 — "A3 IAM Monthly Review"
Each month, I translate raw project-tracking data — sub-project status, percent complete, go-live dates — into a leadership-ready review deck. The go-live calendar was designed to replace a traditional Gantt chart: color-coding each branch's milestones across a five-month span makes cross-team dependencies scannable in seconds instead of requiring a walkthrough.
